Occasional Woven Bench in Blackened Ash and Natural Paper Cord
Featuring a mortice and tenon frame, custom doweling and a handwoven seat, the Papyri Bench is artisan-crafted from recyclable paper cord, and sustainably harvested Ash.
The seat features a continuous run of Danish paper cord woven around "L Shaped Nails" in a traditional binder-cane method of warped pairs. The bench frame is constructed with floating tenon joinery and both legs and dowel stretchers are hand-sculpted with spoke shave, gauge and file to allow for seamless transitions and sturdy joinery. The bench is first dyed black to preserve the texture of ash's unique cathedral-like grain and then finished with a 100% plant-based, hard-wax oil.
